Salary and Emoluments #
Selected candidates will be appointed at a basic pay of ₹ 20,480 per month, along with a 3% annual increment. In addition to the basic pay, employees are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Fringe Benefits, Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity, Medical benefits, and Leave as per the prevailing Corporation rules.
Method of Selection #
The selection process consists of two stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Trade Test
There will be no Personal Interview.
The final selection will be based on a combined weightage of 85% for the CBT and 15% for the Trade Test. Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in each stage (CBT and Trade Test) and a minimum of 60% overall to be considered for selection. Relaxation in minimum standards may apply to SC/ST/OBC candidates if suitable candidates are not available, as decided by ECIL.
Computer Based Test (CBT) #
All eligible candidates will be called for the CBT.
- Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
- Duration: 120 minutes.
- Total Questions: 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark.
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Language: Question paper will be available in English, Hindi, and Telugu. In case of any discrepancy, the English version will be considered final.
- Syllabus: Primarily based on objective type questions derived from the core ITI trades relevant to the posts.
- Test Cities: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata. Candidates must select their preferred city during online application, but the final allotment is at ECIL’s discretion and cannot be changed.

Trade Test #
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Trade Test based on their performance in the CBT, in a ratio of 1:4 (4 candidates for every 1 vacancy). If multiple candidates secure the same marks in the CBT, the candidate with higher marks in the eligible qualification (ITI) will be called first.
- Location: The Trade Test will be conducted only in Hyderabad.
- Scheduling: The date, time, and venue will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates via their registered email address and/or the ECIL website (ecil.co.in > Careers).
- Hall Ticket: Candidates need to download the Hall Ticket for the Trade Test from the ECIL website.
Document Verification Process #
Document verification is a mandatory step that will take place before the Trade Test, on the same day. Candidates must bring the originals and a set of self-attested photocopies of the following documents:
- Printout of the online registered application form, duly signed and with a recent colour passport size photograph affixed.
- Hall Ticket for the Trade Test.
- 10th Standard or equivalent certificate as proof of Date of Birth.
- ITI Marks sheet and Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade.
- NAC Certificate OR relevant Experience Certificate, as applicable.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed in Central/State Government, Public Sector Enterprises, or Autonomous bodies.
- Valid Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed Government of India format. For OBC (NCL) candidates, the certificate should not be older than 06 months.
- Valid Persons with Disabilities (PwD) certificate (if applicable).
- Discharge certificate for candidates claiming Ex-serviceman category.
- Relevant certificate if claiming age relaxation under J&K domicile criteria.
- Copy of the Application Fee remittance slip (for both Online/Offline payment modes), if applicable.
Failure to produce any of the required documents during verification will lead to summary rejection of the candidature.
Application Fee #
- Candidates belonging to General, OBC (including non-creamy layer), and EWS categories are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹ 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only). Applicable bank charges/taxes must be borne by the candidate.
- Exemptions: SC, ST, PwBD, Officers from Defence, and regular employees of ECIL (including Fixed Term Contract employees currently engaged with ECIL) are exempted from paying the application fee. ECIL regular employees should select the appropriate option (“Are you an ECIL Employee” – Yes) in the online form.
Payment must be made through SBI Collect. Candidates can choose either the online mode or generate a pre-printed challan for offline payment at any SBI Branch. The “SBI Collect reference No.” generated after payment must be entered in the online application form. A copy of the fee remittance slip is required during Document Verification.
