The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has issued a notification for the recruitment of meritorious sportswomen in the Hockey discipline for the position of Head Constable (General Duty) under the Sports Quota for the year 2025. This presents a significant opportunity for skilled female Hockey players to join the CISF. Key Dates #
Online applications for this recruitment will be accepted from May 11, 2025. The deadline for the submission of online applications is May 30, 2025, at 23:59 hours. Candidates are advised to complete their applications well before the closing date to avoid any last-minute technical issues.
Vacancy Count #
There are a total of 30 vacancies available for female candidates specifically for the Head Constable (General Duty) post in the Hockey discipline. These vacancies are provisional and may be subject to change based on administrative requirements at any stage of the recruitment process. Any alterations to the vacancy count will be announced on the official CISF recruitment website. The recruitment will be conducted on an All India basis.
Salary Structure #
Selected candidates will be appointed to Pay Level-4, with a salary scale ranging from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100. In addition to the basic pay, they will receive other allowances applicable to Central Government employees from time to time. Appointees will be governed by the CISF Act and Rules, along with Central Civil Services Rules. They will also be eligible for pensionary benefits under the National Pension System (NPS), which applies to Central Government employees who joined service on or after January 1, 2004.
Eligibility Requirements #
Prospective candidates must fulfill specific criteria to be considered for this recruitment:
Citizenship
Applicants must be citizens of India.
Educational Background
Candidates are required to have completed their 12th class from a recognized educational board. Crucially, they must also have the distinction of having represented their State, Nation, or participated in international Hockey competitions. If the 12th class certificate is from a board other than a recognized State or Central Board, it must be accompanied by a Government of India notification confirming its equivalence for the purpose of Central Government service.
Age Limitations
The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 23 years as of August 1, 2025. This means candidates should have been born on or after August 2, 2002, and on or before August 1, 2007.
Relaxations in the upper age limit are provided for certain categories:
- Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates are eligible for an age relaxation of up to 5 years.
- Other Backward Class candidates can avail an age relaxation of up to 3 years.
- Departmental candidates who have completed at least 3 years of continuous service under the Central Government are eligible for an age relaxation of up to 45 years for SC/ST and up to 40 years for General/EWS/OBC categories.
Sports Eligibility
Only meritorious sportswomen who meet the eligibility criteria and have participated in the relevant games or championships during the period from January 1, 2023, to May 30, 2025, are eligible to apply. The application will be assessed based on the documentary evidence provided regarding participation in recognized competitions.
The following sports qualifications in Hockey are considered for the Head Constable/GD post under the Sports Quota:
- Team Event:
- Represented the country in a Senior or Junior International tournament. OR
- Represented a State team or equivalent in National Games or Championships at the Senior or Junior level. OR
- Was a member of a medal-winning team in the All India Inter-University Championship. OR
- Secured a Gold Medal in the National School Games or Championship.
It is mandatory that the candidate was a playing member of the team.
Competitions and games organized by the following authorities are recognized:
- International tournaments approved by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- Senior or Junior level national Championships conducted by National Sports Federations recognized by the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, or National Games organized by the Indian Olympic1 Association.
- Inter-University competitions organized by the Association of Indian Universities or Inter University Sports Board.
- National sports or games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation.
In addition to the Sports Certificate, specific certificates (Forms) on the prescribed format, signed by the designated authorities, are required for different levels of competition. Weightage may also be given to certificates issued by recognized federations or associations based on actual participation and achievements in National Level Competitions.
Physical Standards
Female candidates must meet the following physical standards:
- Height: 153 Cms for UR, SC, EWS, and OBC candidates, except for those specified in the relaxations. The chest measurement is not applicable for female candidates.
Relaxations in physical standards are provided for:
- Candidates from designated hill areas (Garhwalis, Kumaonese, Dogras, Marathas, Gorkhas, and Adivasis) are eligible for a height relaxation to 153 Cms. This relaxed standard applies to all categories (UR, EWS, OBC & SC) from these areas.
- All candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes are eligible for a height relaxation to 153 Cms.
Weight will be noted during the physical measurements, but the decision on fitness based on weight will be made during the Detailed Medical Examination.
Medical Fitness
Candidates who are shortlisted will undergo a medical examination by Medical Boards to determine their physical and medical fitness. They must satisfy the medical standards outlined in the Uniform Guidelines for recruitment Medical Examination for GOs and NGOs in CAPFs and ARs and other relevant government instructions.
Candidates should not have conditions such as knock knee, flat foot, bow legs, squint eyes, inability to close the left eye, inability to flex the fingers often, varicose vein, or any other visible deformities. Good mental health is also a requirement.
Guidelines regarding tattoos are as follows:
- Content: Tattoos depicting religious symbols, figures, or names, in line with the practices in the Indian Army, are permitted due to the secular nature of the country.
- Location: Tattoos marked on traditional body sites such as the inner aspect of the forearm (specifically the left forearm, as it is not a saluting limb) or the dorsum of the hands are allowed.
- Size: The size of the tattoo must not exceed ¼ of the particular body part (Elbow or Hand).
Candidates declared medically unfit in the Detailed Medical Examination will be informed of the reasons in writing and have the option to undergo a Review Medical Examination (RME). Consent for RME must be provided in writing within 24 hours of being declared unfit in the DME. The RME will typically be conducted on the day following the DME. The decision of the Review Medical Board is considered final.
Candidates who do not possess the essential qualification by the closing date of application (May 30, 2025) are not eligible. The date of birth and name recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate will be considered final, and no requests for subsequent changes will be entertained.
Recruitment Stages #
The recruitment process comprises two main stages:
Stage 1:
a) Trial Test
b) Proficiency Test
c) Physical Standard Test (PST)
d) Documentation
Stage 2:
Medical Examination
Candidates whose applications are provisionally accepted will be called for the initial stage of recruitment.
Trial Test
Identity verification, including biometric (LTI) registration, will be conducted. Biometric data will be used for verification at later stages and at the time of joining. Candidates must provide written consent to undergo the Trial/Proficiency Test, PST, and Documentation.
The Trial Test, specific to Hockey, will be for a total of 20 marks and is a qualifying test. A minimum of 10 marks is required to qualify. Candidates failing to achieve the minimum cut-off will be eliminated, and no appeals for a re-conduct of the Trial Test will be considered.
Proficiency Test
Candidates who qualify the Trial Test will participate in the Proficiency Test, which carries 40 marks and is also in Hockey. The minimum qualifying marks for the Proficiency Test are 20. Candidates not meeting this minimum will be rejected. Merit will be determined based on the marks obtained in the Proficiency Test and the marks awarded for meritorious sports certificates/achievements. No appeals for a re-conduct of the Proficiency Test will be entertained.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates who successfully clear both the Trial and Proficiency Tests will proceed to the PST. Their height and weight will be measured. Those who meet the prescribed physical standards will be allowed to continue in the recruitment process. Candidates who do not meet the height requirement can file an appeal on the same day with the Appellate Authority for re-measurement. The decision of the Appellate Authority is final.
Documentation #
Candidates who qualify in the Trial Test, Proficiency Test, and PST will undergo Documentation. Original certificates and testimonials will be verified. Failure to produce the required original documents will lead to elimination, and no provisional acceptance will be granted.
The documents to be scrutinized include:
- Educational certificates (12th pass or equivalent).
- Date of birth certificate (Matriculation or 10th pass certificate).
- SC/ST, OBC, and EWS Certificates, if applicable, in the prescribed formats. Caste certificates not in the specified format will not be accepted.
- Certificates of Sports achievements as per the eligibility criteria.
- Certificates (Forms) issued by recognized federations/associations (Appendices ‘A’ to ‘D’).
- A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Head of Office for candidates currently serving in Government/Semi-Government Departments.
- Four recent passport size photographs with the date of photograph printed (not older than three months).
- Original photo bearing identification proof as mentioned in the application form (e.g., Driving License, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card).
CISF reserves the right to check the genuineness of any certificate, and their decision in this regard will be final. After Documentation, marks (out of 10) will be assigned for meritorious certificates/achievements in Hockey. There is no provision for appeal against rejection in documentation.
Medical Examination
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) based on their performance in the Proficiency Test and the marks obtained for meritorious sports certificates/achievements in Hockey. The number of candidates shortlisted for DME/RME will be approximately double the number of notified vacancies.
Final Merit List #
Following the completion of all stages, including Trial Test, Proficiency Test, Physical Standard Test, Documentation, and Medical Examination, a final merit/select list will be prepared based on the number of vacancies. Marks will be awarded for the single highest medal secured by a candidate between January 1, 2023, and May 30, 2025. If a candidate has won multiple medals, marks will be given only for the highest achievement.
In team events, priority for tie-breaking will be given chronologically, starting with International Tournaments/Championships, followed by National Tournaments/Championships (Gold, Silver, then Bronze winners). If a tie persists, younger candidates will be given preference. If the tie still remains, candidates’ names in alphabetical order will be prioritized.
Inclusion in the provisional select list does not guarantee appointment; final selection is subject to verification of the candidate’s suitability in all aspects. The final result will be published on the official CISF Recruitment website. No waiting list will be maintained.
Application Process #
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online mode via the official CISF website: https://cisfrectt.cisf.gov.in/. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted. Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
The online application process is divided into two parts:
I. One Time Registration
II. Filling of the online Application Form
Part-I (One-Time Registration)
This step creates a permanent registration for the candidate, providing a unique Registration ID and Password that will be used for all future CISF examinations.
Steps for new registration:
- Visit the official CISF website: https://cisfrectt.cisf.gov.in/.
- Click the “Login” button.
- On the new page, click “New Registration”.
- Provide the required information: Basic details, Additional and contact details, and Declaration.
- Enter personal details (Name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, and gender) twice for verification. Ensure that the Name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth exactly match the Matriculation Certificate.
- Provide a valid Mobile Number and Email-ID for communication purposes and for retrieving login credentials if needed.
- Read and accept the ‘Declaration’ and click ‘Submit’.
- Your data will be saved, and the Registration Number and Password will be sent to your registered email and mobile number.
- Log in using the provided Registration Number and password.
Part-II (Online Application Form)
Before proceeding, keep the following documents and images ready in the specified format and size:
- A recent scanned colour passport size photograph (taken within the last three months from the notification date) in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). The date on which the photograph was taken must be clearly printed on it. Photographs without the date or blurred images will lead to rejection. The image dimensions should be approximately 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). The photograph should be without a cap, spectacles, and both ears should be visible.
- A scanned signature in JPEG format (10 KB to 20 KB). The image dimensions should be about 4.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Illegible signatures will result in application rejection.
- Scanned copies of relevant documents for age proof (Date of Birth Certificate or Matriculation/10th Certificate) and educational qualification in PDF format (not exceeding 01 MB).
Steps to complete the online application:
- Log in to the CISF Recruitment website (https://cisfrectt.cisf.gov.in/) using your Registration ID and Password and click the “APPLY PART” tab.
- Enter your login credentials and Captcha and click “SUBMIT”.
- Click on the link for “HEAD CONSTABLE (GENERAL DUTY) AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA-2025 (HOCKEY DISCIPLINE) FEMALE ONLY”.
- The application form will open, with some details pre-filled from your registration. Carefully complete the remaining fields.
- Use the “SAVE & PREVIEW” button to review your form. You can then either “SUBMIT” the application or “EDIT APPLICATION” to make changes. “CLOSE” will exit without saving.
- After verifying all details, read the declaration and click “SUBMIT”.
- Upload your recent photograph as per the specified requirements, ensuring the date is printed.
- Upload your signature in the specified format.
- Upload the scanned copies of your age proof and educational qualification certificates in PDF format.
- After uploading all necessary documents and images, click the “SUBMIT” button. It is advisable to take a printout of your submitted application form for your records, although it is not required to be submitted physically.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- The posts are initially temporary but are likely to become permanent.
- Selected candidates may be posted anywhere within Indian Territory or abroad.
- The recruitment process will incorporate measures for transparency and fairness.
- Candidates claiming reservation benefits must ensure they are entitled and possess the required certificates in the prescribed format.

- If found unfit or ineligible after selection, service will be terminated.
