Revised Application Deadline and Correction Window
Previously announced dates for the submission of applications for both the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam 2025 and the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Exam 2025 have been extended.
- New Last Date for Application Submission: The final date for candidates to submit their online application forms is now February 21, 2025, until 06:00 PM. Candidates are strongly advised not to wait until the very last moment to complete their submissions to avoid potential technical issues.
Following the application period, a window will be provided for candidates to make corrections to certain fields in their submitted application forms.
- Correction Window Availability: The correction window will be accessible for a period of seven days, from February 22, 2025, to February 28, 2025. This is an opportunity to rectify any inadvertent errors made during the initial application process.

How to Download Your E-Admit Card:
To download your e-Admit Card, you will need to visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission. The process generally involves the following steps:
- Navigate to the ‘e-Admit Card’ section on the UPSC website.
- Find the link corresponding to the “Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2025”.
- Click on the download link provided (often labeled “Click Here”).
- You will likely be prompted to log in using your Registration ID and Date of Birth, or potentially your Roll Number if available, along with a captcha code.
- Once logged in, your e-Admit Card will be displayed.
- Carefully check all the details on the admit card.
- Download and take a printout of the e-Admit Card. It is advisable to print a few copies and keep them safe.
Facing Issues While Downloading or Discrepancies in Admit Card
Should you encounter any technical difficulties while trying to download your e-Admit Card, or if you notice any discrepancies in the details printed on it (such as your name, photograph, etc.), you must contact the UPSC immediately.

Essential Instructions for Examination Day
Candidates appearing for the examination must strictly adhere to the following important instructions:
- Admit Card Verification: Scrutinize your e-Admit Card thoroughly for any errors. Report discrepancies to the UPSC immediately using the email ID provided above (uscsp-upsc@nic.in).
- Mandatory Documents: On the day of the examination, you must bring the printout of your e-Admit Card and the original Photo Identity Card that is mentioned on your e-Admit Card. This is required for entry in each session.
- Preserve Admit Card: Keep your e-Admit Card safely until the final results of the Civil Services Examination, 2025, are declared.
- Identity Responsibility: You are responsible for the security of your e-Admit Card. If another person uses it, you bear the onus of proving you did not employ an impersonator.
- OMR Sheet Accuracy: Pay utmost attention when filling in details on the OMR answer sheet, especially your Roll Number and the Test Booklet Series Code. Any mistake, omission, or discrepancy in encoding these details will render your answer sheet liable for rejection and evaluation will not be done.
- Entry Closure Time: Please note that entry to the examination venue will close 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the exam. For the Forenoon Session starting at 09:30 AM, entry closes at 09:00 AM. For the Afternoon Session starting at 02:30 PM, entry closes at 02:00 PM. No candidate will be permitted entry after the gates close.
- Timely Arrival: Candidates are advised to reach the examination venue well in advance of the entry closure time to allow sufficient time for identity verification and mandatory frisking procedures.
- Designated Venue: You are strictly only allowed to appear at the Examination Venue mentioned on your e-Admit Card. Appearing at any other venue is not permitted.
- Review Exam Rules: Candidates are advised to read the ‘Special Instructions for candidates admitted to the Examination’ which are available in the official Examination Notice.
- Provisional Candidature: Please understand that your admission to the examination is provisional.
- Strictly Prohibited Items: Do not carry any mobile phones (even if switched off), pagers, electronic equipment, programmable devices, storage media (like pen drives, smart watches), cameras, Bluetooth devices, or any other equipment or accessories that can function as a communication device. Possession or use of such items will lead to disciplinary action, including potential bans from future examinations.
- Permitted Watches: Only normal or simple wrist watches are allowed inside the examination rooms/halls. Watches equipped with special accessories or communication features (like smart watches) are strictly prohibited.
- Bags and Valuables: Candidates are not allowed to bring any bags, baggage, luggage, valuables, costly items, mobile phones, smart/digital watches, other IT gadgets, books, or study material into the examination premises. Venue supervisors will not provide arrangements for storing these items. Candidates must make their own arrangements for keeping such items outside the venue, and the Commission will not be responsible for any loss.
- Items Allowed Inside Venue: You are only permitted to carry the printout of your e-Admit Card, a pen, a pencil, your original identity proof, copies of self-photographs (if applicable as per instructions), and any other items specifically mentioned in the instructions on the e-Admit Card.
- Negative Marking: Be aware that there is a penalty in the form of negative marking for incorrect answers marked by a candidate in both question papers.
- OMR Marking Pen: Answers marked on the OMR sheet using any pen other than a Black Ball Point Pen will not be evaluated.
- Issues with Photograph: If the photograph on your e-Admit Card is unclear or lacks your name and date of the photograph, you must bring a photo identity card, two recent passport-size photographs (each with your name and date of the photograph) – one for each session – along with an undertaking to be allowed to appear for the examination.
- Verify Admit Card Details: Ensure details like your Name, Photograph, and the QR Code on your e-Admit Card are correct. Contact UPSC as per instruction 1 if there are discrepancies.
- Scribe Information: Candidates who have opted for their own scribe should note that the scribe will only be allowed with a separate e-Admit Card issued for them. E-Admit Cards for eligible scribes have been issued. Specific instructions for scribes may also be available separately on the UPSC website.
- Visit Exam Centre: It is highly recommended that all candidates visit and confirm the location of their examination center at least one day prior to the examination day to avoid any last-minute rush or confusion.
